Over the past few years, Will has performed with, and continues to perform with, many of the Hudson Valley's premier bands, such as The Providers; Jesse Moore (The Hoodoo Man); The Vibe; Rob Cannillo and Friends Band; The Bard College Jazz Band, directed by Prof. Thurman Barker; The Jazz Pioneers Big Band; Lex Grey and the Urban Pioneers; and Roxy Perry," The New York Blues Queen ", Murali Coryell, among others. He has played in many of the area's most recognized venues, such as Bodles Opera House, Chester, NY; The Turning Point, Piermont NY; The Rhinebeck Performing Arts Center, Rhinebeck, NY; The Rhinecliff Hotell, Rhinecliff N.Y., as well as at Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, NY. Will has also performed in many Big Band concerts at the various historic sites in the Valley. In 2004, he represented the Northeast Blues Society / International Blues Challenge in Memphis,TN, with the Brown Shugie Blues Band out of Albany, NY. Recently, Will has performed at The Stephen Talk House, in Amagannsett, NY with The Rob Cannillo and Friends Band. The Rocky Horror Show Band at The Rhinebeck Performance Center. Will plays Blues, Smooth Jazz, Rock,Top 40,R&B,Funk,Latin &Standards.
Steve Turowski, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., has been playing drums with various groups since the mid 1970's. His experience playing drums covers many musical styles; he has played with pit orchestras, and lounge and club groups, including many summers at numerous Catskill Mountain resorts. Steve is currently the drummer for an 18- piece big band, The Jazz Pioneers, a 7- piece Motown dance band Soul Purpose, as well as the Will Smith Trio.
Neal Grover Keyboard/Vocals
Neal Grover, of Kingston, N.Y., received a degree in Music from
Bard College and went on to play several instruments in various genres across several states. He has shared the stage with such notables as pop star Dionne Warwick, blues legend Carey Bell, the late Lips Lackowitz,Murali Coryell and bluegrass star Sally Truitt. He has played in a wide range of venues, including the Kennedy Center, in Washington, D.C.. He currently teaches Music in the Poughkeepsie school system, and has re-entered the live music scene as keyboardist for the Jazz Pioneers Big Band and the Will Smith Trio, where he also serves as vocalist.
